These poems span nearly three decades of writing—from my university days at Bath through travels in Africa, Europe, and America. Each one captures a moment, a feeling, or an idea that demanded to be written.
I don't write to be clever or to impress. I write because sometimes prose isn't enough. A single image, a rhythm, a sound—poetry can hold what ordinary language cannot. These are snapshots of my inner life across thirty years.
The Africa Series
Written during travels through Kenya, Tanzania, and the East African coast. The landscapes, the people, the quality of light—Africa gave me some of my most vivid material.
The America Series
Inspired by a month traveling across the United States—the energy of New York, the vastness of the landscape, the collision of cultures.
Love & Longing
The universal themes, written in my own voice. Love found, love lost, love reimagined.
Nature & Place
Landscapes that demanded to be written—coastlines, forests, the particular quality of light at certain hours.
Reflection & Philosophy
Poems that grapple with bigger questions—meaning, time, what we owe each other.
