THINKING ABOUT BECOMING OLD

The most frightful thing
Of all that is felt
is the feeling of the
knowledge of age.

I sit here
And ponder on how
I may feel
when I am old.

When I am deemed
Incapable.
And see dreams of
My after-life every day.

I hope to have a
good after-life.
It will be planned
beforehand hopefully.

But then it strikes me
That I shall
End my duty here
Gracefully, Elegantly, Conclusively.

And I shall walk
into the sunset
with my face lighted
By the sunlight of hope.
