DO WITHOUT

A young freckled man of nine walked.
Walked happily over the contours of valleys.
Finds abruptly,
A steep scarp into an abyss called "Your fate".

An apple lies to the opposite side of the abyss.
The young freckled man wants to eat the apple.
The apple suddenly changes to a serpent.
"Eat me you bloody fool!" cries the serpent.

He runs o'er the green grass.
Away from the abyss.
Catches a glimpse of a staircase
And sights a martyr.

"Come to me my blessed man",
Breathes the martyr.
"Come...come" repeats a face
Which is now turning around to look ordinary.

Our freckled man of nine looks at the two.
"I could do without both", says he nonchalantly.
