As the funeral blues
Bring their utmost in sorrow;
The soul feels
And tears bring it closer to heaven.
That hope that once was bright;
It has left
For heaven up above.
And it feels like the depths of death.
Such loss that words cannot explain.
Such grief that tears cannot show.
Such sorrow that you will hide your face on the ground.
This sentence is not fair.
Out of all the crimes that you have known;
The crime of your love
Carries the absolute sentence of death.
It is not fair.
That the only person;
That you would have loved to hug;
To have known and to have thought about;
Is the person chosen to leave this world.
Your tears roll in such sorrow;
That you cannot explain your love.
The love that only you know.
That will never be replaced.
That is never to return.
That has gone away.
That has left you in a heap.
Thoroughly helpless.
But you must rise.
You must remember every moment alive;
Every one of those thousand small things.
You must never forget your lost hope.
For when you are old;
For when you settle by the fire.
You will still remember;
And the same tears will come.
And the limitless potential of your life;
That you will remember;
And the joys of living had death not come;
Will be;
Until you join souls in heaven again.
